Read the reviews, bought one anyway. Trigger is not the Geisselle I put in my AR, but is not a problem. UNLESS you shoot benchrest. Boresighted scope and took 3 shots then stopped for the night. 4th shot was at 20′. Nailed a rat in the head. Went through and put a 1" dent in a stainless feed bowl. Beauiful gun. My first Benjamin still is a 312 Dad bought me for my 7th birthday. 60 years ago next July. Thay do what I want.

Bought the BT725WNP in April of 2019. I’m 63 years old. I own several break barrels of different brands . Let me say the .25 cal. Benjamin Trail NP is heavy , really powerful and cocking effort is not for wimps. Great scope comes with it . In fact it’s more for use on a longer shooting range gun like a 22 rimfire rifle. Also after shooting it a bit , I noticed there were no anti slip material on the inside of the scope rings and would let the scope slip & get out of target .No problem. Easily remedied . Took about 300 rounds and a couple of cleanings before getting consistent accuracy. It is a tack driver after getting broke in . The wood stock is beautiful. When the gun is new out of the box , it’s fairly loud. After break in ,it is much quieter. The mechanical noise is more than the muzzle report noise. I like break barrel air rifles because there are no accessories to mess with like air pumps as in pcp guns. The only thing I would do to improve is maybe a lighter synthetic stock. It is pricey for a break barrel. I have Crosman break barrels (not in .25) that were much less expensive and just as good a quality .I have a Crosman Redtail .22 that is a favorite.. Crosman is made in China. Benjamin is made in the U.S . So ? You would think being made in the U.S and higher price, that they would put a better smoother trigger assembly in. You want a smooth trigger ? Buy a Beeman. But they don’t make one in .25.

I was sent this Benjamin Trail to replace a Crosman (The parent company of Benjamin) rifle I had purchased which could not be made to shoot even fairly accurately with any type of pellet. Man, am I glad they made this switch with me! Not only is this Benjamin Trail Magnum in .177 cal.accurate, but it has some real knock-down power using the proper pellet! I have no trouble putting pellets clear through the head of an adult woodchuck at 40 yards with no problem at all. The one change I made made to the stock rifle was to purchase a 5-16 power C-P Scope from Crosman because this rifle deserves the better optics for the accuracy it posesses. I am very thankful to Crosman for backing up the quality of all their products, but for this deal in particular! Thank you!

Great rifle. Once broken-in, it is a real tack-driver! A very nice scope comes with it too.
Recommended it to my sister-in-law and she bought one in .177 caliber. She also loves hers too!

I got this in .177& .22 cal they are both lazer rods , 22 is excellent on med. size game , put a pinty 4 x 16×44 scope on it and man it‚Äôs the truth, I shoot H&N hollow point extreme 18 grain 22cal pellets , shred‚Äôs everything it hits , this gun is a power house , here‚Äôs pics of a 40lb wood chuck i laze red out..

I got the .25 cal. After I cleaned the barrel and fired a few wads thru it, got it scoped in. Scoping is not easy with a break barrel, but it worked. I’m shooting tight groups at 35 yards, but the led pellets just penetrait the plywood. I think 50 yards would be like shooting arrows, at least with these pellets, hawk thunder 33.95 gr slug. I think a giant scope would be ridiculous on this rifle unless you need a lot of optical assistance.
It’s a good rifle, but it don’t have another to compare it to.

I have numerous underlevers and break barrels. This is my first Benjamin. I got the .22 to use for varmints and some treerat hunting on my place. I noticed a lot of reviews where they talked about dirty barrel and bad trigger. Yes it does come with some oil/grease in it, but it’s an easy clean. The trigger on mine was a little hard at first, but now that I’ve put about 100 rounds thru it, not bad at all for a hunting trigger. I’ve shot around 1/2 dozen pellets from 14-16 gr. All of them have shot 800-900 FPS, that’s some impressive FPE’s averaging 23 to almost 25 FPE. I do suggest shooting at least 50 rounds before even trying to seriously set your scope or you will be chasing impacts all over the target. The stock scope is ok, but it not having mildots is a no go for me. None of the pellets I’ve tried, would I say grouped bad. I found the Crosman Ultra mag 14.3 gr shooting at an average of 883 FPS with only a 3 FPS differential to be the best groups so far. The FPS differential, is what really impressed me to begin with, I had no more than a 8 FPS difference with any pellet, that was with the Hades 15.89 gr and they also had the worse group. With the Crosman Ultra mags 14.3 gr, I can keep 10 rounds in a nickel at 25 yards. I will for sure be getting another 1 or 2 of these fine air rifles in other calibers soon.

I’ve had and shot my Benjamin .25 Cal almost everyday for a month now. Can honestly say I’m around a 1000 shots in, and it has broken in well. I started out hating the trigger but it seems allot of the creep is gone. It is a very sensitive gun on how it’s held to the point I couldn’t set the sights in a sled it would shoot completely different when shooting in hand. The Scope on the other hand I’m not sure about lost turret adjustment 200 shots in

I love the aesthetics of the air gun. It seems to be built really well. Only down side was that during the shipping process my package was tossed around and the box even came with three holes and a big dent to the corner( butt stock even left a dent on the styrofoam). The scope broke instantly upon use and I can’t get it sighted in at 15 yards with a scope I had laying around. My best guess is that the fedex workers were so careless with the package that something got hurt. Or maybe I just got a bad gun. I talked to cross man about the scope and I’ll be getting a new one but if it doesn’t do what I was hoping it would ill be asking for a replacement.

I got my .22 in early August 2023. Only issue was the scope it came with was bad, not a problem, was using it on another airgun. Benjamin sent me a replacement immediately. I’ve found that the Customer service and technical support personnel to be easy to deal with. So I personally have to question the negative reviews, I’ve had nothing but positive results with them ! Had several conversations with tech support about some fluctuations in FPS. They immediately offered to exchange my rifle. I decided to shoot it more and see what happens. It was just the rifle breaking in. I’ve now shot around 1,000 of the crosman ultra mags 14.3 gr through it. It consistently shoots at around 900 FPS with a max variation of 5 FPS +-. The accuracy is impressive, at 50 yards, if I do my part right, 10 shot groups can be covered with a nickel. The trigger gets a lot smoother with use. I did adjust it some, with the screw in trigger housing, made a nice difference. Make sure to clean your barrel before shooting, don’t try to get the scope totally spot on, until you have shot 50-100 pellets or you are going to be chasing point of impact a lot. My rifle really started getting really consistent at around 500 rounds shot.

I have two 177 Nitros. Using an Airmax 30, 4-16 x 50 scope I can hit 1" target at 100 feet nearly every time. A miss is me, not the rifle. With a 9.6 grain Baracuda Hunter Extreme pellet (also most accurate I have found) I am getting 1050 fps consistently.

Amazingly accurate. Very powerful. I’m trying different 22 cal pellets to see which are most accurate. I love this gun. It rivals 22 rimfire rifles I own like my BL22 and my 1022. Great build Benjamin!

I only got to get the scope mounted and shoulder sling put on. Weather not cooperating this time of the year. When I finally do, I do not expect it let me down. Nice and feel. Little heavy but that should make for a more steady shot off my Field Pod. The scope on the other hand I’m not to sure about it. Got it mounted and put the laser bore sighter on it got the elevation set but when setting the windage to right I ran out of adjustment and need a little bit more. So I backed it off to about where I started. Don’t let my scope issue stop you from a purchase. I’ll see what happens at the range. But I am very impressed with the look and feel. Would buy again.

You sent the wrong shoulder strap is my first complaint. Still trying to zero scope so I don’t have much to say about it. It is heavy for sure at 10 lbs.

When I saw the description of the rifle, it was to come with a shoulder strap. It didn’t, I was told they haven’t been sent with the rifles in years. It also looked like it was refurbished rifle. It will be the last product I buy from Benjamin.

Overall the Trail NP XL .22 is a very good air rifle. After break-in shotting of 200 Crossman Ultra Mag 14.3gr dome pellets,.. I didn’t get the very good accuracy. After some online research, I found many people having the same issues. Here are the issues:
1) The CenterPoint 3×9 scope was bad… The crosshairs would "jump" every shot and "jump" while turning the power dial. Replaced scope with an air rifle 4x AO scope which resolved the scope issue. improved accuracy greatly!
2) Get rid of the 2-stage trigger!!!! The factory trigger pull is way too long and hard with over 7-pound pull. Performed the "trigger mod" many have done by removing the factory trigger spring and trigger adjustment screw; and inserting a 3mmx8mmx2.5mm bearing over the existing trigger pin. Now the trigger has a nice short and light trigger pull much like most hunter rifles. Improved the accuracy greatly!!!
Now I am consistently shooting very good groups at several distances: 15yds = 1 inch; 25yds = 1.5 inch Still have a couple of "flyers". Going to look at heavier pellets because the groups get much larger 25+ yards. Overall very pleased with the rifle! If Benjamin would fix issues listed above, all reviews would be a 5-star!!
